i saw this on tumblr and, well. it is sweet and charming, rather like mr. gaiman appears to be. it is also true and inspiring and i wish i’d had this kind of encouragement as a wee child.

i have, however, had the distinct pleasure of reading mr. gaiman’s writing as it has come out—in other words, following his career in real time, book by book and story by story. that we now exist in a world where children might develop and cherish an imaginary neil is a very good thing.

also, i have lived long enough to see a cartoon, cat-eared neil gaiman lying atop a bed of falafel.

i am happy.
