Fogcon

FOGcon

March 7, 2019 by L.S. Johnson

Wow, it has been a while. This is, perhaps, one of the side effects of having a newsletter – you start putting all your news there, rather than here. (You know you can sign up for it, right? I’m sending them about once a month …)

But this weekend is FOGcon, where I will be attending panels, talking shop, and generally unwinding from a crazy February. (If in doubt, look for me close to the bar – it’s been that kind of a month.) I’ll have books for sale at the Borderlands table in the Dealer Room, and on Sunday I’ll be reading with three other excellent authors … come check us out!

In like a lion, out like a lion

March 26, 2018 by L.S. Johnson

March has been a month for practicing gratitude: for the gift of unemployment, which has meant time to write; for this writing life; for the support of family, friends, and felines; and for you readers out there, who are the other half of the writing equation. Leviathan is off with its editor and I am 3/4 of the way through revising my poor neglected novel and remembering all that I loved about it. It is an overdue reconciliation. My head, as usual, is bursting with story stuff and I would like about three clones, please: I’m guessing two more to help get all this stuff out of my head and a third one to earn a paycheck … Yep, I think three would do the trick.

FOGcon was a great, exhausting whirlwind as the best cons are. If you had more questions about my panels, my reading, or if I just shot past you in the hall, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I’m always happy to keep the conversation going.

In Leviathan news: to ramp up for the release I’m serializing Harkworth Hall on Radish, so if you have an account there do check it out! I had to break up a couple of chapters to conform to their suggested lengths, but I think it still works out to be less $$$ than the ebook, and you’ll be able to read it in that nice clean Radish format.

And the Leviathan cover is coming, though newsletter folks will get to see it first. Which means it’s an excellent time to sign up! —>

FOGcon schedule

March 4, 2018 by L.S. Johnson

Next weekend (March 9-11) is FOGcon, a Bay Area con modeled on Wiscon. It’s my local con, and a good one if I do say so myself – small but with lots of programming and a literary focus. My schedule is

Friday, 3:00 PM – Self-Publishing Q&A

Friday, 9:30 PM – Broad Universe Rapid Fire Reading with Loren Rhoads, Sarah Grey, Rebecca Gomez Farrell, and Liz Green

Sunday, 10:30 AM – How to Get Into Stories

I will also have copies of Vacui Magia and Harkworth Hall for sale at the Borderlands Books table in the dealer’s room, along with so many other lovely books. So. Many. *looks forlornly at minuscule bank balance*

Looking forward to a weekend of good conversation, food for thought, and many, many additions to my to-read list!
